Located in a leafy northern suburban neighbourhood where slpoed plots come as a default origination, MM House sits on a generous block, hemmed from all sides by vegitation and rock formations.
The clients had aspirations to build a family summer house that sits naturally with the surrounding terrain without interferring with the lands natural findings and topography. Due to local regulations and to the presence of massive rock formations inside the plot, the house had to be positioned in the center creating a large distance between the only accessable road and the main entrance of the house.
This led to the development of a form that plays far from the typical pitched roof profiles found in the neighbourhood creating a design approach that rises defensively to provide privacy where needed.
The ground floor is submerged into the topography with a secondary access along the plot and the first floor entrance is accessable through an elevated walkway.
